How to fix cold plate contact on the ML360 SUB-ZERO?

My rig was hitting peak load and then just black-screening and rebooting with the fans screaming at max speed. Checking the logs was a nightmare; despite using the high-end ML360 SUB-ZERO semiconductor cooler, Core 1 was hitting 91,0°C while the others were chilling at 32,0-38,0°C. That massive delta is a dead giveaway for a gap between the cold plate and the IHS.
