Why does my NH-D15S cause temp spikes in Where Winds Meet?
Man, this cooler is so quiet it's almost scary, but my CPU temp was jumping from 50℃ to 90℃ in a single second. The NH-D15S fan curve is way too conservative; it stays at 900 RPM until 80℃, which is just too slow for this game's burst loads. I tried maxing the fans out, but the noise at midnight was absolute torture. Instead, I built a fragmented step-curve: 1100 RPM at 60℃, 1500 RPM at 75℃, and a hard jump to 2000 RPM at 85℃. In AIDA64 stress tests, the spikes dropped from 92℃ to a manageable 81-84℃, and those annoying stutters vanished. I did have a weird rattling sound at low speeds initially because the startup voltage was too low, but bumping it by 0.1V killed the noise. Now the core stays between 72-78℃ and the fans remain discreet. I exported the logs and confirmed frame times are now rock steady between 5.1-6.4ms.
