How to fix WD SN850X loading hitches in GTA V RP?
Walking through the heart of Los Santos was a glitchy mess; my monitoring tools showed storage utilization pegged at 85-92% with wild swings in random read latency. I wasted hours trying to defrag the drive—which is pointless for an SSD—and it actually slowed down my boot times, making me feel like I was fighting a losing battle. I decided to go deeper and flashed the storage controller to the latest stable driver while flipping the power plan to Ultimate Performance. Checking the sensors, the random read latency dropped from 2.1-4.2ms to a crisp 0.9-1.5ms, and frame times stabilized from 18.4-27.2ms to 12.1-15.8ms. I initially tried dropping my resolution, which just lowered GPU load and caused more weird stutters; it took three reboots and a power plan recalibration to hit this sweet spot. The drive still runs hot at 58-64℃ during peak stress, but the gameplay is finally fluid. After running a stress test, the latency distribution is flat, and the drive temperature stays around 58-64℃.
