Stabilize CPU Clock in Forza 5
Racing through the Mexican highlands, I felt a terrible irregular stutter as frames dropped from 120 to 70 whenever I entered lush areas. I tried lowering the shadow quality in-game; while average FPS increased, the instantaneous stutters remained, making me realize this was a superficial fix. I used the GamePP Fan Curve Configuration Panel to lock the speed at 100% above 80℃, then fine-tuned the start threshold to 72℃. CPU temperature stabilized at 76-82℃ per HWMonitor and frequency converged to 4.4-4.6GHz per CPU-Z, while VRAM stayed at 42-48℃ per HWMonitor.
