How to stabilize AMD Ryzen 7 9700X memory latency in Gears 5?
In the middle of intense combat, the GamePP Frame Time Analyzer showed a graph that looked like a heart attack—totally unstable and making precision aiming a nightmare. The FCLK on my Ryzen 7 9700X was bouncing between 2000MHz - 2133MHz, causing memory latency to swing wildly from 62ns - 88ns. I tried just enabling the XMP profile, but I'd still get a tiny, infuriating hitch every ten minutes that drove me crazy. I eventually used the GamePP BIOS Load-Line Voltage Adjust Wizard to lock the SOC voltage at 1.25V and forced the FCLK to a stable 2100MHz. Using RTSS, I watched the frame generation time shrink from a messy 12ms - 28ms range down to a tight 8ms - 11ms.
