Why is my DeepCool AK500 ARGB throttling in Sword Fairy 7?
When pushing the high-precision rendering scenes, my DeepCool AK500 ARGB Ice Cube just couldn't handle the transient power spikes, with temperatures jumping wildly between 92-98℃. This heat soak triggered immediate thermal throttling, tanking my clock speeds from 4.8GHz down to a pathetic 3.2GHz, which made the game feel like a slideshow. I first tried locking the fans at 100% in the software, but while it dropped the temp by about 4℃, the noise was absolutely unbearable—a total fail. I eventually dove into the BIOS and set a manual CPU voltage offset of -0.05V, while remapping the fan curve to hit 90% speed once it hits 75℃. Checking HWiNFO, the core temps settled between 78-84℃, and the frequency finally stabilized in the 4.4-4.8GHz range. It wasn't a smooth ride, though; I hit two BSODs on cold boots after the first offset, so I had to dial it back to -0.03V for actual stability. Now it sits around 82℃ and the noise is tolerable. After a 3-hour stress test, the frame times are rock steady at 5.1-6.4ms.
