How to stop Samsung 9100 PRO 8TB from overheating in Enshrouded?

Whenever I fast-traveled across the map, the screen would have these tiny, jarring hitches that were an absolute nightmare during combat. Since the Samsung 9100 PRO 8TB is a PCIe 5.0 drive, the throughput is insane, but the heat is just as bad, peaking at 82-88℃ and triggering the controller's emergency throttling. I first tried limiting the max write speed in software, but that just doubled my loading times, which left me feeling incredibly frustrated. I eventually went into the BIOS and forced the PCIe link mode to Gen4 instead of 'Auto' and slapped an 80mm spot fan directly over the drive. HWInfo showed temps dropping from 85℃ down to 58-64℃, with speeds stabilizing at 5000-6000MB/s without any more sudden dips. I was worried about the performance hit from Gen4 at first, but real-world loading only increased by 0.5 seconds while stability improved tenfold. The chipset temps stayed around 55-60℃. 3DMark storage benchmarks confirm the throttling is gone, and the game finally feels snappy again.
