Fixing CPU Temp Spikes
During cross-era expansion, my frame rate would tank to 30 FPS without warning, making strategic planning a chore. I first tried the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool, but it showed no errors, proving software checks couldn't find the thermal bottleneck. I used the GamePP Fan Curve Configurator to lower the fan start threshold to 55℃ and maxed the speed to 1800 RPM. AIDA64 stress tests then showed CPU temps stabilized at 74-80℃, and GamePP confirmed fan speeds stayed between 1200-1500RPM, while Task Manager showed load at 68-75%.
