Solving VRM thermal throttling on Jginyue B760M GAMING D4
In the final circles, my frames would plummet from 144 FPS to 40 FPS, and the anxiety was real. The VRMs on the Jginyue B760M GAMING D4 were hitting 106℃, triggering a hardware safety throttle that slashed my clocks from 4.8GHz to 2.4GHz. I tried capping the CPU at 65W via software, but the game became a slideshow—totally unacceptable. I decided to go the hardware route and slapped 3mm pure copper thermal pads on the VRM heatsinks and forced a 120mm exhaust fan at the top of the case. Monitoring with HWMonitor, VRM temps crashed from 104-109℃ down to 81-87℃, and my minimums climbed from 21 FPS back to 51 FPS. I actually messed up the first install with pads that were too thick, which prevented the RAM from seating properly. Now the CPU stays at 71-79℃ and RAM is at 47-54℃. Stress tests confirm the clocks are stable, and the input lag is finally gone.
