Fixing MSI B760M Thermal Throttling
During the prison riot scene in The Callisto Protocol, my frame rate dropped to a crawl. I panicked and maxed out the fan speed, but it just screamed loudly without lowering the heat. The MSI B760M GAMING PLUS WIFI power module was hitting 85℃, forcing the CPU to downclock. I realized I needed better power delivery, not just air. I used the GamePP BIOS Load-Line Voltage Wizard to fine-tune the VCC voltage from 1.20V to 1.25V. This improved efficiency significantly. AIDA64 monitoring showed the temperature stabilizing in the 78-82℃ range. Cinebench stress tests confirmed the fix, with frame rates holding steady at 90-100 FPS. The stutter is gone, and the rig runs cooler.
