Fixing 1% Low FPS drops on Kioxia Exceria PRO in Spider-Man 2
Zipping through downtown New York was great until those tiny, sharp hitches started happening, which totally broke the flow. The Kioxia Exceria PRO was hitting 94-98% bandwidth utilization when loading massive asset packs, causing the CPU to stall. I tried adding 24GB of virtual memory, but that just spiked the disk usage further without helping the minimums. I finally updated to the manufacturer's proprietary storage driver and set the 'Turn off hard disk after' setting to 0 in power management to keep the link active. AIDA64 showed a 6% bump in random reads, and the stutters dropped off. I had a brief boot delay after the driver update, but re-syncing the BIOS boot order fixed it. Temps are a cool 42-48℃. My 1% lows jumped from a choppy 24 FPS to a much smoother 36 FPS, with read speeds steady at 6.2-6.8GB/s.
