Why is my Noctua NH-D15S hitting 90°C in The Hunt tech demo?
It's honestly ridiculous—using the flagship NH-D15S and still hitting 90°C in a tech demo. I was ready to roast this thing until I noticed Core 1 and Core 4 were 12°C - 15°C hotter than the rest, which is a textbook sign of uneven mounting pressure. I tried undervolting all cores in the BIOS, but that just gave me a Blue Screen of Death after ten minutes—extremely frustrating. I tore the whole thing down, swapped to Noctua's NT-H2 paste, and tightened the screws in a strict diagonal pattern in three passes. In OCCT stress tests, all cores stayed unified between 68°C - 74°C. I actually thought the mounting bracket was bent and almost started an RMA process, but it was just my sloppy installation. Fans are now a whisper-quiet 1200 RPM. I've backed up the final PBO curve and fan profile so I never have to do this again.
