Why does Neverness to Everness freeze during fast movement on Maxsun B650M?

Whenever I zipped through the city, the screen would freeze for 0.5 seconds without warning, a total nightmare for a fast-paced game. I tried moving the game to a SATA SSD, but loading times jumped from 10 to 40 seconds and the freezes remained, which was a waste of time. I used the GamePP NVMe Queue Depth Configurator to set the depth to 2048. CrystalDiskMark stress tests confirmed 4K random reads rose to 82-90 MB/s, with response times stable at 2-5ms per CrystalDiskMark.
