Reducing Random Read Latency
The random read performance was driving me crazy. During scene transitions, the game would just hitch, and the latency was jumping wildly. I tried updating to the latest manufacturer drivers, but it just added two seconds to my boot time without improving the stutters, which made me furious. I used the GamePP NVMe Queue Depth Configuration to set the depth to 1024 and optimized the write cache. It finally smoothed out. RTSS showed the frame generation interval converged from 15-60ms to 11-19ms. GamePP Hardware Sensor confirmed the read latency stopped spiking and drive temps stayed at 42-50℃ per GamePP Hardware Sensor.
