Why does Apex Legends drop from 144 to 60 FPS with 96GB RAM?

It was unbearable; despite having 96GB of RAM, I still hit desperate micro-stutters during firefights, with FPS dropping from 144 to 60 per RTSS. I recklessly tried increasing virtual memory, which did nothing but increase disk I/O pressure and make the stutters worse. GamePP Resource Scheduler revealed 110-160ms mapping peaks per RTSS. After a failed attempt to overclock to 6400MHz that caused a system reboot, I switched to 2MB Large Page mode. CrystalDiskMark showed random reads improved to 68-82MB/s, and memory usage stabilized at 22-28GB per AIDA64.
