Reducing Fan Noise in Splinter Cell Remake
High-load rendering in Splinter Cell (Remake) was loud; my Thermalright PS120 SE Phantom Spirit spiked to 2200 RPM, creating 45dB of noise per HWiNFO64. I tried balanced power mode, which reduced noise but dropped my frame rate from 120 to 85 FPS, breaking immersion. Using GamePP Fan Curve Config Panel, I raised the PWM threshold to 70℃ and lowered the fan speed cap to 2000 RPM. HWiNFO64 confirmed CPU temperature stabilized at 78℃, and fan noise dropped to 38dB. AIDA64 showed stable temps at 75-80℃, so I finally switched to a quiet profile.
