How to stop Kioxia EXCERIA PLUS G4 1TB from overheating?

The frame drops are brutal, especially during fast stealth movements; it feels like the game is being played in slow motion. When the Kioxia EXCERIA PLUS G4 1TB hits full PCIe 5,0 read speeds, core temps spiked to 85-92C, triggering a thermal throttle that slashed bandwidth in half, dropping speeds from 10,0GB/s to a pathetic 3,0GB/s. My first move was adding two extra case fans blowing directly at the M,2 slot, but that only dropped temps by 3C—totally useless. I ended up stripping the heatsink and replacing the pads with 1,5mm high-conductivity thermal pads and adding metal pressure clips. Monitoring via HWInfo, the peak temp stayed suppressed at 62-68C, and read speeds locked in above 9,0GB/s. The visual fluidity came back instantly. I did have a scare where the drive wasn't detected because I overtightened the clips, but a slight loosen of the screws fixed it. Idle temps now sit at 48-55C. After a two-hour stress test, there was zero speed drop, and memory temps held at 58-63C.
