Should I lock core clocks for Zotac RTX 5060 Ti 8GB?
Every time I swung the Leviathan Axe and triggered those massive frost effects, my FPS would tank from 80 down to 35, which was incredibly frustrating. The Zotac RTX 5060 Ti 8GB core clock was swinging wildly between 2.3GHz and 1.8GHz because transient power spikes were triggering the motherboard's power limit, forcing the GPU to downclock. I tried 'Prefer Maximum Performance' in the driver, but the core temp shot up to 82℃, triggering thermal throttling and making the drops even worse—total failure. I eventually used software to manually lock the core clock at 2.1GHz, bumped the power limit to 110%, and forced the fans to 1800RPM. In 3DMark stress tests, the 1% lows jumped from 35 FPS to 62 FPS, with fluctuations under 4%. I noticed VRAM temps rose by 5℃ after the lock, but adjusting my case airflow brought them back to 80-85℃. GPU temps now sit at 68-74℃. The input lag is gone, and the combat finally feels responsive.
