Fixing asset streaming lag on Zhitai TiPro9000 in Unreal Engine 5
The loading lag was actually caused by a misaligned disk partition. My Zhitai TiPro9000's 4K random reads were bottoming out at 42-52MB/s, which is pathetic compared to the advertised specs. I wasted time reinstalling the demo project, but the load times stayed above 35 seconds—it was incredibly frustrating. I used a partition alignment tool and saw the read latency plummet from 1.3ms to 0.4-0.6ms. The weird part is that alignment alone didn't do it; I had to disable Windows Fast Startup and perform a full cold boot before the materials started popping in instantly. The SSD stayed cool at 46-52℃, and CrystalDiskMark confirmed sequential reads locked in at 7000MB/s. No more random hitches, and my RAM temps stayed between 58-63℃.
