How to stop Corsair Vengeance DDR5 96GB from crashing in RE8?
The game would just black screen and reboot the second I entered the village square—absolutely killing the immersion. After digging into the logs, I realized the massive 96GB capacity of the Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000MHz was hammering the memory controller, causing VDD voltage to bounce wildly between 1.1V and 1.3V. I tried switching to the High Performance power plan in Windows, and while RAM usage stayed at 22-28GB, the crashes kept happening. It was incredibly frustrating. I eventually went into the BIOS, killed the auto-voltage management, and locked VDD and VDDQ at 1.35V, while pushing the SoC voltage to 1.2V. After 6 cycles of Prime95, not a single bit-flip error. One heads-up: when I first locked 1.35V, the RAM hit 62℃ in 15 minutes. I had to ramp up my case fans to 1200 RPM to bring it down to 52-56℃. MemTest86 now shows a clean bill of health with temps holding at 58-63℃.
