Fixing memory instability on Galax B760M D4 Wi-Fi Black Knight
The game would just black screen the second I popped an ultimate—it felt like a total memory transmission failure, which is a nightmare in a competitive game. The default XMP profile on the Galax B760M D4 is way too aggressive, leaving the memory controller with a sluggish 108ns latency at 3200MHz. I tried downclocking to 2666MHz, which stopped the crashes, but my 1% lows tanked from 75 FPS to 52 FPS, so that wasn't an option. I went back into the BIOS, nudged the DRAM voltage from 1.35V up to 1.38V, and loosened the tRFC from 480 to 520. Using AIDA64, I saw latency stabilize between 67-71ns, and I managed 5 hours of gameplay without a single hiccup. I actually pushed it to 1.40V once, but the sticks hit 64℃ until I rigged up a small 80mm spot fan. Now the CPU sits at 63-69℃ and VRMs are at 56-63℃. MemTest86 shows zero errors and temps are chilling at 58-63℃.
