How to manage VRAM on Manli Nebula RTX 5060 8GB for Remnant 2?
Watching the game crash to desktop right at 99% loading was an absolute nightmare, especially since it happened every single time I entered a new zone. The 8GB of VRAM on the Manli Nebula RTX 5060 is just barely enough for next-gen textures, with usage hovering between 7.8GB - 8.0GB, which inevitably triggers an OOM (Out of Memory) crash and resets the driver. I tried nuking the shadow quality first, but the game looked like mud and it still crashed, which was incredibly frustrating. I eventually dug into the config files and manually dropped the texture pool limit by 15%, while simultaneously bumping my system virtual memory to 32GB to catch the overflow. The Event Viewer, which was previously spammed with TDR errors, finally went quiet. I did mess up once and put the page file on an old HDD, which tripled my loading times until I moved it back to the NVMe SSD. Core temps are now 65℃ - 72℃ with fans at 1600 RPM. It's stable now, but 8GB is definitely a bottleneck for this title.
