Optimizing Valkyrie V360 MIST pump for Kingdom Come?
Walking through the main towns was a slideshow of lag, which is incredibly frustrating when you're trying to immerse yourself. The default pump curve on the Valkyrie V360 MIST is way too conservative; it didn't even start ramping up until the CPU hit 75℃ - 82℃, with a lag of about 1.5 seconds. I tried dropping the graphics to Medium, but the game looked washed out and it didn't actually fix the spikes. I went into the BIOS Advanced settings, switched the pump from Auto to Full Speed, and set the PWM trigger threshold to 50℃. HWInfo showed the peak temps were finally capped at 72℃ - 78℃, and frame times dropped from a messy 20ms - 45ms to a clean 15ms - 19ms. I did deal with some annoying pump resonance noise at first, but moving the radiator to the top of the case killed the vibration. Water temp is 36℃ - 41℃ at 3100 RPM. The input lag is gone and it feels way more responsive.
