Is the Jonsbo CR-1400E ARGB causing thermal throttling in Ark 2?
Watching those massive dinos move like a PowerPoint presentation was a nightmare; my CPU was hitting a 98℃ redline, causing the clock to jump frantically between 2.1GHz and 4.2GHz. The CR-1400E's small tower design just can't keep up with Ark 2's heavy compute loads, and the heat buildup was way faster than the fan could exhaust. I felt a total sense of dread after the third crash in a row. I first tried forcing the fan to 100% via software, but it sounded like a jet engine taking off while only dropping the temp by 2℃—completely useless. I eventually rotated the cooler 90 degrees to align the airflow directly with the rear exhaust and bumped the front intake fans to a full 12V. In a 15-minute OCCT stress test, temps dropped from 95-99℃ to a manageable 76-82℃, and frame times stabilized from 25-40ms down to 14-18ms. I actually bumped a RAM stick during the process and the PC wouldn't boot for a second, which just added to the frustration. CPU power is now 110-120W and the responsiveness is finally snappy.
