Boosting VRAM performance for Gainward RTX 5080 Storm OC
It's honestly ridiculous that a 5080 would stutter in WoW, but the Gainward card was acting like it was asleep at the wheel. Even though VRAM usage was only 10-12GB, the scheduling latency was bouncing between 20-40ms, causing the screen to twitch every few seconds. I tried dropping the resolution to 2K, but the game looked like a blurry mess—absolutely not an option. I went straight into the NVIDIA Control Panel, set Power Management to 'Prefer maximum performance', and wiped 6.8GB of shader cache. In RTSS, the frame times converged from a jagged 18-32ms to a smooth 11-14ms. The fluidity is finally back. My temps hit 78℃ initially, so I bumped the fan curve by 10% to keep it around 68-72℃. Memory frequency is now locked at 21Gbps with minimal ripple. Performance logs confirm the scheduling lag is dead, and fans are humming steadily at 1400-1600 RPM.
