How to optimize NVMe cache and read latency on Soyo B550M?
Running a fast-paced game on this board was honestly testing my sanity. Every time I hit a new area, the screen would just freeze for about 0.3 seconds. The GamePP sensor page showed the NVMe queue depth was pathetic, sitting between 3 - 5, meaning requests were just piling up on the bus. I tried moving the game to an old SATA drive, which was a joke—load times literally doubled. I finally dove into the GamePP NVMe Queue Depth Config, pushed the queue depth from 32 up to 128, and enabled the forced write cache refresh policy. In CrystalDiskMark, 4K random reads jumped from 35MB/s to 58MB/s - 65MB/s, and the freezing finally stopped.
