How to stop the SN850X from lagging in Lost Ark?
Man, the SN850X has a huge reputation, but it was giving me the 'spinning wheel of death' during map loads, with speeds crashing from 7000MB/s to 800MB/s. It felt like the drive was playing hide-and-seek with the game data. Once that dynamic SLC cache fills up, the write speed falls off a cliff, and the game just hangs. I tried setting the virtual memory to half the remaining drive space, but in a massive MMORPG like this, it just created more I/O conflicts and actually increased the stuttering—what a joke. I went into Device Manager and bumped the NVMe controller queue depth from 1024 to 2048 and enabled forced write cache flushing. DiskSpeed showed 4K random reads climbing from 48-55MB/s to 65-72MB/s, and the deadlocks vanished. I did notice a slight delay in drive recognition during boot after the change, but switching Windows to 'High Performance' power mode killed that. Temps stayed 45-55℃. Exported the logs and it's finally stable.
