How do I fix the 1-2 second black screens when switching levels in Indiana Jones?

The black screens broke the immersion completely. Adjusting Windows power plans failed and caused hangs. I used GamePP Power Plan Switcher to disable APST. CrystalDiskMark confirmed 3500MB/s reads, and black screen time dropped from 1.5s to 0.2s.
