How to optimize Fanxiang S790 4TB I/O for Horizon Zero Dawn?
Having 4TB of space is great, but this drive was testing my patience. Every time a fight got intense, the system started hammering the virtual memory. Even with the Fanxiang S790 4TB being a PCIe 4.0 beast, the fragmented page file caused my FPS to tank from 75 down to 18 in an instant. I tried deleting some random apps to clear space, but that was just a band-aid fix that lasted ten minutes before the lag came back. I finally manually locked the page file size between 32GB-64GB and disabled the automatic system management. Looking at the RivaTuner frame time graph, the jagged spikes finally smoothed out into a flat line, with frame intervals steady at 14-18ms. Weirdly, my boot time slowed down by 3 seconds after this, until I disabled 'Fast Startup.' The drive is running at 42-50℃ with about 55% load. Exported the logs and confirmed the fan speed is hovering around 1400-1600RPM.
