Reducing Storage Read Latency
Using a B450M in 2026 for Frostpunk 2 is ironic; every time I zoomed the map, the disk light went crazy and the game stuttered. I tried moving the game to a different SATA SSD, but loading times actually increased by 20 seconds. I used the GamePP NVMe Queue Depth Config to force the depth from 32 to 128. Random 4K reads hit 58-62MB/s per CrystalDiskMark, SSD temperature stayed at 45-52℃ per AIDA64, and Southbridge temperature hit 58-63℃ per AIDA64.
