Fixing the Huntkey Blizzard T620 Snow power spike boot lag
After hitting the power button, the system would just hang on the splash screen for nearly 15 seconds. It was super sketchy. Using a voltage monitor, I found that the 12V rail was dipping by 0.5V during the initial surge, which triggered the motherboard's protection circuit. I tried disabling Fast Boot in the BIOS, but that just made the delay worse—20 seconds of staring at a logo. I eventually swapped the stock modular cables for high-quality shielded cables and set the Windows Power Plan to 'Ultimate Performance'. On my oscilloscope, the boot voltage swing narrowed from 11.5-12.5V to a tight 11.9-12.1V, and the boot time dropped to 6 seconds. I wasted so much time formatting my SSDs thinking it was a drive failure before I realized it was just the PSU cables. CPU power is now steady at 120-150W and GPU spikes hit about 320W. Stress tests confirm the waveform is clean and fans are stable at 1400-1600RPM.
