Why is there screen tearing in World War Z at 2K?

When facing swarms of enemies, the screen occasionally showed a slight tearing effect, which was jarring at 2K resolution. I first tried enabling Extreme Performance mode in the BIOS; while read speed increased, the disk temperature instantly hit 72℃ per AIDA64, triggering thermal throttling. I used the GamePP NVMe Queue Depth Config to set the queue depth to a constant 512. Frame generation time converged to 13-17ms per RTSS, and disk temperature stabilized at 48-55℃ per AIDA64.
