I took a very cautious approach to that split-second delay in the sim. First, I scrubbed all background apps to minimize RAM usage. A latency tester showed response times jumping erratically between 68ns and 82ns, which is lethal when you are trying to rapidly place buildings. I tried the High Performance power plan in Windows, but it only shaved off 2ns and the spikes remained. That's when I realized the motherboard's memory power-saving features were the culprit.
