Solving memory bandwidth issues on Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200?
During heavy Hellfire fights, the game would just hitch for a fraction of a second, which absolutely kills the competitive feel. The default timings on the Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 are too loose for modern data streams, with latency hitting 72-80ns, leaving the CPU just waiting around. I tried adding 16GB of virtual memory, but it only increased my disk usage without helping the minimums—I'm much more cautious now. I went into the BIOS, manually tightened the primary timings to 14-16-16-34, and cautiously bumped the voltage from 1.35V to 1.38V. In AIDA64, read speeds jumped from 42GB/s to 48GB/s, and the hitches vanished. I did have a random reboot 15 minutes in after the first timing tweak, but loosening tRAS from 34 to 36 sorted it out. Temps are 45-51℃ with VRMs at 62-68℃. The 1% Lows improved from 32 FPS to 45 FPS, and frame times are now stable at 5.1-6.4ms.
