My MSI PRO B760M-A WIFI DDR4 II VRMs are overheating during Horizon Forbidden West combat. Should I adjust power limits?

Fighting giant machines would trigger a sudden drop from 110 FPS to 55 FPS, along with some nasty input lag. HWInfo revealed the MSI B760M VRMs were hitting a scorching 102C, triggering thermal throttling that tanked my CPU clock from 5,0GHz down to 3,2GHz. I tried undervolting the CPU cores, which dropped temps by 5C, but the 1% lows were still all over the place. I ended up rigging a small 40mm fan to blow directly onto the VRM chokes and capped the PPT power limit in the BIOS from 253W to 180W.
