Fixing memory hitches on ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 in FFXV
Exploring the open world was mostly fine until these random 0.2s freezes happened, which are lethal during combat. I found the ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 was struggling with 3200MHz RAM, with tRFC swinging between 560-620ns, causing memory controller lag. I tried dropping the RAM to 2666MHz; the stutters stopped, but loading times got 15% slower, which felt like a waste. I went back to 3200MHz but loosened tRAS from 38 to 42 and bumped the voltage from 1.35V to 1.38V. AIDA64 showed read latency dropping from 82ns to a steady 74-78ns, and the hitches vanished. I actually blue-screened three times trying to tighten the timings too much before I bumped tRC by 4 cycles. RAM temps stayed at 42-48℃. Five passes of MemTest86 confirmed zero errors.
