How to fix read latency on Onda H610M in Deathloop?
In a fast-paced game like Deathloop, those tiny micro-stutters during time-loop jumps are absolutely lethal to the experience. Monitoring showed the PCIe link on the Onda H610M was struggling with fragmented data, causing constant retransmit requests. My effective bandwidth was swinging wildly between 2000 MB/s and 4000 MB/s. I tried disabling every background app I could find, but the read latency didn't budge. I finally went into the BIOS and forced the M.2 slot to Gen3 mode and double-checked the physical seating of the drive. In CrystalDiskMark, the random 4K read latency dropped from 58ms to a stable 32-38ms, and the hitching stopped. I did accidentally reset my boot order during the process, which was a pain to fix, but the results are worth it. Board temps are stable at 45-52℃ and the read curve is finally flat. It's a bit of a downgrade in spec, but the stability is night and day.
