Solving AK620 mounting pressure issues in The First Descendant?
I couldn't stand it—having a top-tier air cooler and still crashing from overheating after two hours is just ridiculous. If the AK620 isn't mounted with perfectly even pressure, you get core deltas of over 10℃, which triggers random VCORE voltage drops and causes 'illegal memory access' crashes. I tried updating the motherboard BIOS first, but the crashes actually got worse—that 'optimization' was a total disaster. I ended up stripping the cooler, applying high-end thermal paste, and using a torque wrench to ensure the four corners were perfectly balanced, then added a 0.02V offset in the BIOS. In an 8-hour OCCT combined CPU/RAM stress test, there were zero errors, and the crashes vanished. Temps actually rose by 2℃ initially, but adjusting the case airflow brought it down to 70-76℃. Core delta is now under 5℃. I backed up the voltage profile to a USB drive, and the input response is finally snappy.
