Fixing power delivery issues on Colorful Battle-Ax B450M-T in Stalker 2
This motherboard is barely hanging on with modern games; every time the effects ramp up, I get a blue screen. It's honestly a joke. The VRM on the Colorful B450M-T showed a massive 0.12V drop during transient power spikes. I first tried swapping in a 750W Gold PSU, but the reboots kept happening—spending money for zero results is the worst feeling. I eventually did a deep clean of the dust around the capacitors and disabled every single CPU power-saving state in the BIOS to force it to run at max frequency and stop the voltage from jumping. HWInfo showed the Vcore swing tighten from 1.12-1.25V down to a stable 1.20-1.23V. Disabling power saving made my idle temps jump by 8℃, so I had to set my fan curves to full blast to keep it under control. CPU temps now sit at 75-82℃, and the VRM area is around 68-74℃. After five long exploration sessions, the crashes are gone and the controls feel snappy again.
