Why does Primal Carnage freeze for 0.6s during combat zone switching?

During intense racial wars, the screen would freeze for 0.6 seconds without warning, which is a total nightmare for this game. I tried moving the game to a SATA drive, but loading times increased from 10 to 35 seconds per GamePP Monitor and freezes stayed. I then used GamePP NVMe Queue Depth Config to set the depth to 2048 and switched to High Performance power mode. This improved 4K random reads to 60-68MB/s per CrystalDiskMark, with temperatures stable at 40-45℃ per AIDA64.
