Fixing memory errors on Galax B760M D4 White Phantom in Primal Carnage?
It's honestly a joke that a board called the 'White Phantom' struggles with 3200MHz RAM, throwing checksum errors left and right. While loading high-res textures in Primal Carnage, the memory controller voltage on the Galax B760M D4 would dip around 1.05V, leading to an immediate blue screen. I tried turning off XMP in the BIOS, but that dropped my RAM to 2133MHz and doubled the loading times, which was just a depressing solution. Instead, I manually bumped the SOC voltage from Auto to 1.2V and loosened the timings from 16-18-18-38 to 16-20-20-40. After four passes of MemTest86, the error count finally dropped from 8 to zero, and the game stopped crashing. I tried pushing 1.3V, but the VRMs hit 88°C, so I had to add a dedicated fan blowing directly on the board to bring it down to 72°C. CPU temps are now 58-64°C. I backed up the BIOS profile, and the game finally feels responsive and smooth.
