How to fix disk scheduling for Great Wall GW3300 512GB?
Running this game on a 512GB drive is pure torture; loading a single scene pushes disk usage to 100%, which is just ridiculous. Because of the limited capacity on the Great Wall GW3300 512GB, the system shoves 60% of the data into virtual memory, sending I/O wait times soaring to 180-300ms. I tried dropping all settings to low, but while FPS went from 20 to 30, the stuttering stayed exactly the same—a total waste of time. I ended up locking virtual memory at 24GB, forcing the game process to Realtime priority, and killing all Windows Update services. Resource Monitor showed disk pressure drop from 99% to 85%. It still drops frames occasionally, but at least it stops crashing. I actually had some weird mouse skipping when I first set Realtime priority, so I had to dial it back to High. Temps are 40-48C. I exported these desperate settings via a system image tool; the input response is finally somewhat usable.
