Why does World War Z: Aftermath stutter during zombie swarms?

I was devastated when massive zombie swarms caused my CPU to spike from 62℃ to 94℃, sending my FPS plummeting from 110 to 42. I tried setting the fan mode to full speed in BIOS, but the noise was as piercing as a power drill, making it unbearable. I then used the GamePP Fan Curve Configuration Panel to set the 75-85℃ slope to 85% and the 90℃ trigger to full load. Now, core temperatures converge to 72-81℃ per AIDA64, and frame times are a stable 8-11ms per FrameView.
