How to fix Resident Evil 9 CPU spikes on Noctua NH-D15 G2?
While entering the creepy underground lab, my CPU temp shot from 62°C to 94°C in just 3 seconds, causing the clock speeds to go haywire. It was a total nightmare. I first checked the mounting pressure to ensure the cooler was seated perfectly, but the default silent profile was just way too slow to react to burst loads. I jumped into the GamePP Fan Curve Config Panel and aggressively steepened the slope between 75°C and 85°C, forcing the fans to ramp up before hitting the thermal wall. Checking the GamePP Hardware Sensor Page, the peak temp dropped to 81°C and frame times smoothed out. I actually tried undervolting the CPU first, but that just led to a hard crash on the loading screen.
