Why is my Zotac RTX 5070 Ti stuttering during combat?
Whenever I unleashed a wide-area attack, the game would just hitch for about 12 - 25ms. It was a nightmare. The 16GB VRAM on the Zotac RTX 5070 Ti was being way too aggressive with frequency switching, jumping wildly between 2100MHz and 4500MHz. I tried lowering texture quality first, but that just made the game look like mud without fixing the stutters, which was honestly frustrating. I eventually dove into the NVIDIA Control Panel and forced the Power Management Mode to 'Prefer maximum performance' and locked the core clock at 2400MHz. Checking RTSS, my 1% lows jumped from 42 FPS to a rock steady 68 FPS. The input lag vanished. One heads-up: the card hit 82℃ within 15 minutes of locking the clock, so I had to manually bump the fan curve to 85% speed at 70℃ to keep it cool. VRAM temps settled around 65 - 72℃. Ran a 3DMark stress test and the throughput is finally smooth. Settings saved.
