How do I stop the RT620P fan noise in Metaphor: ReFantazio?
While exploring the city, the fans would suddenly rocket from 800 to 1800 RPM, and that constant revving was driving me insane. The default curve on the RT620P is way too twitchy for transient loads, causing the CPU temp to bounce between 55°C and 72°C. I first tried the 'Silent' preset in BIOS, but that was a disaster—temps hit 92°C in combat, triggering a massive clock drop. I couldn't live with that performance hit. I eventually dove into the advanced settings and bumped the PWM response delay from 0.1s to 0.7s, then mapped a linear climb between 60°C and 80°C. Checking HWiNFO, the jagged spikes finally smoothed out into a clean curve. I did hit a snag where the fans vibrated at low speeds, but cranking the minimum floor to 900 RPM fixed it. Now the cores sit comfortably between 68°C and 75°C, and the noise is barely there. Three hours of gaming confirmed it's stable, and the profile is saved.
