Why is my Jingyue B760M Gaming D5 lagging during loading?

Whenever I hit the crowded streets of Kamurocho, the loading bar just freezes at 85% for about 3 seconds, which totally kills the immersion. I dug into it and found the M.2 slot on the Jingyue B760M Gaming D5 was set to 'Auto,' causing the link to bounce between Gen4 and Gen3, triggering I/O wait errors during peak reads. I first tried disabling all background scan services in Windows, but that only shaved off 0.5 seconds—a complete waste of time. I eventually booted into BIOS, navigated to Advanced -> PCIe Configuration, and forced the slot to Gen4 while setting storage to high-performance scheduling. Running CrystalDiskMark, my random 4K read latency dropped from 62ms to a steady 34-39ms, and the freezes vanished. I did notice the SSD idle power draw jumped by 2W, but a quick tweak to the power management plan fixed that. VRM temps stayed chilled at 45-52℃, and my frame times finally locked in at 5.1-6.4ms. It's rock steady now.
