Fixing SSD Read Latency
While sneaking through Kyoto streets, the screen suddenly freezes for a fraction of a second, which is fatal during assassination moves. I tried disabling all background update services in the system, but the frame drops showed no improvement, making me realize the issue was in the underlying scheduling. I enabled the GamePP Resource Scheduler, forced the game's disk access priority to real-time, and increased the queue depth from 1024 to 2048. Frame generation time converged to 12-16ms per RTSS, and SSD temperature remained stable at 52-60℃ per AIDA64. I/O response time hit 2.1-3.4ms via GamePP Benchmark.
