Fixing Frequency Fluctuations
Using 4K mods, my frame rate would suddenly drop to 40, which is critical in a precision platformer. I tried disabling power-saving modes in BIOS, but temperatures spiked to 92℃, triggering thermal throttling, which was a disastrous approach. I used the GamePP Power Plan Switcher to lock High Performance mode and raised the process priority. RTSS showed frame intervals converged to 10-15ms, and HWInfo confirmed CPU temperatures at 62-68℃ with AIDA64 showing 4.2-5.0GHz fluctuations.
