How to stop voltage drops on Biostar A320MH PRO in games?
The visuals in Tokyo are incredible, but having my frame rate plummet from 90 FPS to 30 FPS in the middle of a fight is a total mood killer. The VRMs on the Biostar A320MH PRO were hitting 102℃ under load, causing a brutal 0.08V drop in Vcore, which forced the CPU to downclock instantly. I tried enabling 'Game Mode' in Windows, but it did absolutely nothing. I realized I had to stop the board from choking, so I went into the BIOS and capped the maximum CPU boost clock at 3.8 GHz and set the power plan to 'Balanced' to reduce transient current spikes. In a 30-minute OCCT stress test, voltage fluctuations stayed within 0.02V, and the drops vanished. I lost about 5 FPS in my minimums, but that's a fair trade for a game that doesn't freeze. CPU temps now sit at 72-80℃ with the case fan locked at 2000 RPM. It's a compromise, but it works.
